Vendors already registered in S2G can quickly register with OregonBuys through a streamlined registration process. Upon registering a vendor may provide their S2G credentials, which establishes a connection to S2G for that vendor upon account creation. This will also assist the vendor by pre-populating all of the common vendor data fields in OregonBuys, which will reduce the time for vendors to become active in the OregonBuys system.
Q: What does “linking” mean to the vendor?
A: The vendor may now move freely between their OregonBuys and S2G accounts once they have authenticated (logged in) to either system. The vendor may use just one username and password for either system, so he/she will not have to remember usernames and passwords for every agency they are registered with.
Q: Can a vendor “un-link” their accounts?
A: Yes, a vendor may go to his/her OregonBuys account settings and remove a link they previously established.
Q: When a vendor registers a new account with S2G, what exactly happens?
A: The vendor will be establishing a Limited account with S2G. S2G Limited is a free bid notification service that organizes Bids and notifies vendors of new Bid opportunities based on commodity codes.
Q: Will the vendor see advertisements or other S2G information within OregonBuys?
A: No. Vendors will only see a small S2G link to either register or link an account. If an account is already linked, the S2G link will instead navigate the user to S2G.
Q: Will Periscope charge vendors for OregonBuys Bids if the vendor sees them in S2G?
A: No. As S2G and Periscope are now in the same family, these bids are considered “In-Network Bids,” which means all ePro agency and other S2G Source agency bids are freely available. This will increase visibility to agencies and provide a hub for vendors to view their opportunities. As an ePro subscriber, ORPIN bid data is included as part of the In-Network Bids in this service.
Q: What if a vendor contacts OregonBuys Support about a S2G question?
A: S2G has a Support Services team specifically for issues or questions from vendors. Please refer these vendors to 1-800-990-9339.
Q: What does it mean that S2G sells services to see additional bids?
A: Periscope offers a premium services within the S2G network, which is an aggregate site/notification hub that collects bid information from various sites across the US and provides that data to Vendors who choose to sign up for this service. This is an optional service that vendors do not need to sign up for if only interested in bids directly posted on OregonBuys.
Q: How do I see all applicable bids in Oregon without paying a fee?
A: Agencies are in the process of getting set up in OregonBuys and will not be able to post new bids until after the Go-Live date of July 1st, 2021. Secretary of State (SOS) and Department of Forestry (ODF) are set up and are actively using the system, but post new bids on their own specific timeline.
OregonBuys is a free site and does not have a fee for accessing the site or bidding on solicitations. Periscope’s paid product is totally optional and is not part of OregonBuys (it actually pulls Bid data from ORPIN as well).
